My name is James Singer and I am a Rockford based cinematographer. I'm an East Coast kid, living in the Midwest, with aspirations to move Westwards where the air smells evergreen and mountains dawn the horizon (sorry corn and soy bean fields).
Why did I pick up a camera?

It has a lot to do with growing up with an obese orange tabby cat. Without looking, I'd estimate I captured thousands of photos of my feline friend, Dee Brown (I think he enjoyed the paparazzi). Along with living with a photogenic cat, family vacations to National Parks allowed me the opportunity to use my creative eye.
I've pursued Film & Photography for the last 9 years. During this time, I've captured Sports, Fashion, Landscapes, and Products. I've most recently found a love and desire to work in Advertising as a
Director of Photography, and delivering photos to Clients.

When I don't have my camera in hand, you'll find me outdoors. This includes driving to the tune of my favorite artists, bike riding, camping and admiring the Universe, or working on a Christmas Tree Farm, handling trees (this one's a new one).

My favorite films are The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013), Mountain (2017) and The Maze Runner (2014).
